Let Your Light Shine! Here, There, Everywhere.

MissionFest Toronto 2014

As we welcomed many new exhibitors showcasing their organization’s call at this year’s MissionFest, God’s light truly radiated all around as hearts, and talents came together for His glory.

With the amazing teamwork of speakers, exhibitors, artists, volunteers, intercessors, service providers, partners and staff,  MissionFest’s 2014 theme “Let Your Light Shine” became a reality. From preparation to presentation; MissionFest was a great success due to each and every individual allowing the Light of God to shine through them – in all that they did. Every individual played their part; going above and beyond their call of duty to meet every need; enabling themselves to be used as vessels unto the honour of God.

God’s word coupled with incredible testimonies encouraged thousands of attendees through programming for Pastors, Leaders, Men, Women, Youth and Children.

Andrew Alleyne speaking at the ENGAGE Youth night used God’s call upon his life to bring young people to Christ. Some young ones even received insight into how they are to let their light shine using the gift God has deposited in their lives. “I had a young lady come up to me afterwards who is so passionate about missions. She’s been on missions trips before etc, but on Friday night a vision for using her gift of miming/ dancing to reach people in foreign nations was birthed.” Andrew Alleyne, Catalyst Ministries.

Neil Boron of WDCX Radio inspired men from different walks of life to allow themselves to be useful vessels for the Lord no matter where their walk had started from; or where they think it might be going. Rachelle Mainse, using her extraordinary gift as an ordinary woman of God encouraged women from all over theGTAto let their light within shine bright – no matter where God has placed them. Even children were challenged to make a difference as they were encouraged to seek God’s wisdom for their lives and allow Him to lead them as they shine bright for theKingdomofGod.

Pastors and leaders from various ministries gathered together to be ministered to and encouraged by DrSteve McEvoy. There was a refreshing amongst those who have been called to be Shepherds for Christ’s sheep and disciple others.

I attended MissionFest’s pastor and leader session with guest speaker Steve McEvoy. This was a life changing, eye opening experience for me in how I can be a better leader. Leadership is not about a title, it is serving the people that you are leading.

It is when I am in my deepest desperation /mess and cry out to God my Father that He hears me, because Jesus became sin in my place, there is nothing that I can do to earn his righteousness .I am now more confident in my relationship with my Heavenly Father and in going forth to lead others.

I want to thank MissionFest for putting on this program and am looking forward to the next one.

 – Kirk Watson, president of Men’s Ministry, Light and Life Ministries

Steve McEvoy has a fascinating way of talking about leadership!  Based on his personal journey, Steve understands that the secret to better leadership is NOT based on will-power, self-help programs or positive thinking.  Instead, following in the footsteps of Jesus, the suffering servant, and building on the foundation of God’s truth, love and grace.”

– Neil Boron, Host of “LifeLine”, WDCX Radio

Over 100 exhibitors and thousands of attendees enthusiastically encouraged and challenged one another to heed the call of missions locally and abroad. This is the driving force behind MissionFest; a purpose to continually bring people together, equipping them for God’s call on their lives embracing missions wherever God has placed them. We rejoice seeing the gap between generations, denominations, and people of all nations grow smaller each year. Exhibitors included Missionary Ventures Canada, The 700 Club,CTS, Gospel for Asia, I Am Second, Emmanuel Bible College and Yonge Street Mission to name a few.

MissionFest is building the kingdom Friend by Friendand with our generous supporters who donate their time, money, goods and services, we are all making a significant impact worldwide!

When you plan and prepare for the best, expect to rest!

God does say ‘yes’ to His promises.  When the body of Christ comes together, works together, cooperates with one another, we can expect to rest in the Lord’s blessings.

“Out of all the events I have ever organized, this was by far the smoothest running operation thanks to an incredible team of people (volunteers, staff, presenters, intercessors, partners and others) who gave sacrificially of themselves to ensure the Lord’s work is done and His purpose for MissionFest fulfilled.”  – Sharon Ganesh, Executive Director

This year MissionFest has seen many new attendees who came for the first time and were greatly impacted by the various programs offered.  There were attendees who were enlightened to the truth of sex-trafficking in Canada and never knew it existed.  Others were getting equipped and encouraged to step into their call in the areas of marketplace ministry, men’s and women’s ministry, missional outreach… and many more.

Once again the ENGAGE Youth night was packed with an attendance that gets larger every year. Nigel Paul from MoveIn gave a message that stirred up a hunger for God in the youth as he challenged them to give up the things of this world in order to gain the things of heaven.

“Dave Toycen’s messages really touched my heart. He is a true living legacy who reflects amazing example to the broken hearted and Gods’ people. I love how he challenged Gods’ people with the statement “why we do what we do? He said we are change agents for God and that God loves us so much that he wants to enhance his reputation through us. He said, may the why of God’s call break your hearts . May we all have a heart of compassion that he reflects to the world.” – Treneta Bowden, Faith Arise Ministries

Egyptian speakers Sameh Hanna and Majed El Shafie shared their passion for the great breakthroughs that are taking place as more and more people come to Christ despite the persecution.

Prayer and praises were lifted up in the peaceful atmosphere of the Prayer Chapel, the outskirts of the parking lot and in the exhibit areas.

God showed up in so many ways – ministering through teaching, networking, connecting, worship, prayer, testimonials, healing, open doors of opportunities and most of all through an incredible demonstration of His love.  With love and adoration to the One who is worthy, we labour. Here Him say, ‘well done my good and faithful servants’.

“Amazing teamwork” shines through at MissionFest Toronto 2011, held at Global Kingdom Ministries in Scarborough. Top to bottom, inside and out, speakers, attendees, exhibitors, artists, volunteers, and staff all made MissionFest’s 2011 theme “We’re All In This Together” a reality. From prayer to presentation this year’s event owes its huge success to each individual playing their part going above and beyond meeting every need. It was exciting to see partnerships bearing much fruit for the Kingdom.

“Many thanks for taking such wonderful care of Luis while he was in Toronto. He had an absolutely wonderful time at MissionFest. He was so blessed and said everything went like clockwork. May the Lord bless you richly.”
– Jane Stradley, Personal Assistant to Luis Palau

God’s word coupled with incredible testimonies encouraged thousands of attendees through programming for Men, Women, Youth and Children. In partnership with Promise Keepers Canada MissionFest Toronto hosted a men’s program for the very first time with speakers Kirk Giles and Luis Palau. Inspiration and impartation marked the many women who attended the women’s program with speakers Melinda Eastabrooks and Marva Tyndale. The over capacity youth program with Brett Ullman challenged the younger generation to see through the deceptions of media, faith and culture and to change the world from the inside out. Even children were challenged to make a difference through a successful children’s program as they were encouraged to seek God’s wisdom for their lives and allow Him to lead.

“I had a nine year old girl come up to me at another event a week later to say she was part of the MissionFest kids program and was inspired to do some fundraising to help children in the developing world. That little girl is having a Kingdom impact thanks to MissionFest!”
– Brad Saunders, World Vision

Worship took center stage through artists Jody Cross, the ROLIM praise team and Aaron Boghossian.

“…There are so many aspects that were powerful that it is hard to articulate them all. From the wonderful celebration of the Friends of the Fest on Thursday, to the Pastors’ Brunch…, to the Men on a Mission with Kirk and Luis, to the Women’s event, and on it goes….”
– Brian Dawkins, The Peoples Church

Over 20 topics populated a plethora of seminars including “Politics of Missions to Muslims”, “Creative Arts: Opening Doors in Tough Places” and “Global Asia: Catching Up with Asia on the Move”. Speakers Nizar Shaheen, Patrick Fung, Ron Cline, Ron Pearce, Lisa Cheong and others reflected God’s heart and desire to be a light wherever God has placed them.

“…. I loved the atmosphere. Very much filled with joy and excitement for what God is doing around the world.”
– Danny MacKay, World Vision

The atmosphere was buzzing as MissionFest was the first to use Global Kingdom Ministry’s brand new gymnasium as the main exhibit hall. This allowed for an exciting indoor experience.

Divine appointments showered over 160 exhibitors and thousands of attendees as they enthusiastically encouraged and challenged one another to missions locally and abroad. It is for this purpose that MissionFest continues to bring people together. We love to see the gap between generations, denominations, and people of all nations grow smaller each year. Exhibitors included Missionary Ventures Canada, Mission Aviation Fellowship, The 700 Club, CTS, Gospel for Asia, World Vision, WDCX Life-FM and Jews for Jesus.

“Thank you for bringing another year of MFT to the GTA and beyond. Your faithfulness to His vision in this region has brought His Body together to be taught, challenged, envisioned and even commissioned.”
– Hany Boghossian, MissionGTA, Chair

We are excited to announce that the missions trip winner for this year courtesy of Missionary Ventures Canada is Mabel Hum of North York Ontario and an attendee of The Peoples Church.

“…when I received the call that I was the winner! It did not seem real – I couldn’t believe it!  This would be my first missions trip. It will enable me to have a first hand-experience of partnering with the local church within a team setting.”
– Mabel Hum

MissionFest is building the kingdom Friend by Friend and with our generous supporters who donate their time, money, goods and services, God’s mission for 2011 has been fulfilled!

APRIL 16-18, 2010

An Intimate Gathering of God’s people called according to HIS purpose.

MissionFest Toronto’s 15th year anniversary was celebrated in a setting where it all began – a church, where God’s people pray, worship and engage in missional outreach year-round. Held at Global Kingdom Ministries in the east-end of the GTA, provided a more intimate gathering of the participants and attendees this year. With the Exhibitor tent outside, barbeques grilling, the parking lot full to capacity and thousands of people occupying every corner of the church, for many it felt like a family outing.

From April 16th to 18th, there was a unifying energy flowing through the atmosphere of the entire venue inside and outside. On Saturday, the prayer chapel had a line-up outside its door. The “MissionFest Community” would be the best way to describe it.

It was my first MissionFest, and I was so thrilled to see the family of God come together and share their passion for reaching out around the world – and unified in desiring to share Jesus’ message of hope and salvation. What a breath of fresh air!

–          Ryan Resmer, Toronto Celebration Church

Attendees enjoyed meeting, greeting and connecting with the exhibitors, speakers, volunteers and many others.

It was a great experience and I personally had some great opportunities to meet some great people as well as seeing God work in some amazing ways!

–          Matt Poulsen, Relevant Worship

MissionFest aims to bridge the gap between generations, denominations, and people of all nations by presenting a variety of diverse programming with a host of dynamic speakers, seminars, plenary sessions, 200 exhibitors, a Women’s Forum, ENGAGE Youth program, Leadership Program, visual arts gallery, interactive children’s program and prayer.

I want to say THANK YOU for a wonderful MISSIONFEST Event this past April 16-18. I loved it! I attend every year and really enjoy the seminars, speakers and the exhibits. I agree with what George Verwer said: That MissionFest is probably 10x more strategic an event than we even comprehend. I was so blessed by this event that I would like to volunteer to help you promote this event or help out wherever I can.

– Tracey Hanson

Attendees and participants from Canada and abroad shared their experiences and knowledge to assist in encouraging, educating, enlightening and engaging people of all ages to get involved in missions wherever God has called them.

Life-changing messages expressed through speakers like Tony FernandezGeorge Verwer, Afshin Javid, Jean Chamberlain, Nathanael Gerber, Ron Pearce, Michael Puffett and many more, captivated those who listened attentively to hear what God would speak to them.

Holy ground indeed, Holy Spirit raining down on all who were there, a Holy moment with a Holy God!… there was such a unity of spirit and oneness of heart. I will treasure that as I feel God gave us a very special gift that morning. It was such a privilege to see so many hungry sisters wanting to know the call He has on their lives and for Him to meet us right at our point of need.

– Lisa Cheong, speaker at Women’s Forum

MissionFest is about making disciples, equipping believers and reaching the lost. The children’s program was a real highlight this year with speakers, Anthony McLean of iEngage and the Manners Lady, Judi Vankevich engaging 6-11year olds in biblically moral principles. There were wonderful activities for pre-schoolers aged 3-5yrs and 9 children surrendered their lives to Jesus!

I wanted to thank the MissionFest organizers for the great day our Oakwood Baptist children’s group experienced at Mission Fest.  The adults who attended with them were also blessed and doubly blessed to be able to attend some of the booths and the event in the sanctuary… due to the way the children’s programs were organized.

– Marguerite Morrison, Oakwood Baptist church

This year MissionFest hosted a diverse group of exhibitors – The Voice of the Martyrs, Trinity Western University, Wear Da Word, TTC Christian Fellowship, Fellowship of Christian Farmers, Frontiers, Camp Elogia, Celect.org, Engineering Ministries International, Equip, Eurovangelism and so many more.

Once again the Saturday night ENGAGE Youth plenary was full to capacity with young people from across Ontario challenged to reach out to others, discover selfless living and God’s call on their lives according to His purpose.

I have been very encouraged by the sense of peace I’ve had about the experience. A number of young people have written to me to respond and share their experience and how God challenged them through the weekend – so I know that God truly was planting something on Saturday evening.

– Nathanael Gerber, speaker at ENGAGE Youth Plenary

The musical worship was extraordinary with an intimate expression of love for Christ – this year in various tongues such as Spanish, English, Tamil and Singalease. Artists included Relevant Worship, Nuevo Elementos, United Through Worship, Marlene O’Neill and Paulis Sanchez who sang to a full audience.

Wow, what can I even say about MissionFest except it was an amazing experience and in every aspect it surpassed all my expectations. God truly showed up!

– Paulis Sanchez

Operating a large event like MissionFest does not come without its challenges especially with the good that it achieves each year. With each building block, we overcome knowing that Christ is the chief cornerstone. God has brought together, directors, staff, volunteers, exhibitors, speakers, participants, attendees and the Friends of the Fest donors including churches, organizations and individuals in ONE house, ONE accord and for ONE purpose.  Let’s keep building, we’re all in this together.

APRIL 16-18, 2009

Lives Saved. Bondages Broken. Destinies Determined.

The Father’s Heart Revived in His people.

This year MissionFest Toronto sprung forth with a new date, new location and bright sunny skies.  From April 16th to 18th, attendees enjoyed meeting, greeting and connecting with the exhibitors, speakers, volunteers and many othersDue to encouraging testimonials from those who attended and participated in the event this past April, we are pleased to see that the Father’s heart is being fulfilled.

“The most compelling and eventful part of the event for me had to be the personal interactions, dialogues and prayers…. I felt on many levels this was a God orchestrated set up to release me into missions. There was much thought provoking conversations about how I could get involved as an individual for local and international initiatives to get involved in Jesus’ great commission to make disciples of the nations!”

– Gabrielle Smith, Mississauga, Ontario.

The Mission Adventure Morning children’s program with guest speaker Anthony McLean of iEngage was one of the highlights during the event.
